Biography
John S. Young, MD
Dr. Young completed his ACGME cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at Northwell health in 2017 and came to the Brigham and Women's Hospital for additional training in the Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery Fellowship. After graduating, Dr. Young stayed on as an associate surgeon. His research interests include immunology, lung transplantation, and thoracic oncology. He is dedicated to the educational mission, having previously been a mentor to undergraduate students, been a bio skills instructor of Air Force Pararescue Jumpers, and started and ran the Northwell Outpatient Thoracic PA/NP Education Series. His clinical areas of interest include end stage lung disease, lung transplantation, mechanical circulatory support, benign and malignant esophageal and lung pathology, and utilization of the robotic surgical platform.
