Biography
Manisha Thakuria, MD
Dr. Thakuria received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University, went on to receive her medical degree from Case Western Reserve University, and then completed her residency in dermatology at the University of Michigan. Dr. Thakuria is a Clinical Instructor of Dermatology at Harvard Medical School and a member of the Department of Dermatology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Center for Cutaneous Oncology at the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center. She specializes in the treatment of Merkel cell carcinoma, and is the Director of the Merkel Cell Carcinoma Center of Excellence at the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center. Dr. Thakuria teaches and mentors students from Harvard Medical School and residents of the Harvard Dermatology Program. She has lectured at national and international conferences on Merkel cell carcinoma, and served on the Merkel Cell Carcinoma Expert Panel for the American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) 8th Edition Cancer Staging System. Dr. Thakuria’s research focuses on defining optimal management of patients with Merkel cell carcinoma.
