Cancer Diagnostic Service

The Cancer Diagnostic Service at Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center can expedite a diagnosis in patients that present with signs or symptoms of cancer and where the appropriate next steps are unclear. Our service provides an efficient path to reach a timely diagnosis and avoid unnecessary testing and delays in treatment.

How to Transfer a Patient in an Emergency

We can help with the rapid transfer and transport of patients to our facilities. Our team will facilitate communication between you and receiving physicians, locate inpatient beds, and arrange transport.

For adult patients, physicians should call 857-215-3262 to arrange timely inpatient and emergency department transfers to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

For pediatric patients, call 866-771-5437. Dana-Farber collaborates with Boston Children's Hospital to provide inpatient care for children.

Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center has a long history utilizing cellular therapies to treat blood cancers and blood disorders. Over more than 30 years, we have performed more than 9,200 hematopoietic stem cell transplants, the original form of cellular therapy. We continue to offer patients the latest treatments, including CAR T-cell therapy, other genetically-modified T cells, and cancer vaccines.
