Biography
Daniel Wiener, MD
Dr. Daniel C. Wiener is a thoracic surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and an Instructor of Surgery at Harvard Medical School. After graduating with honors from Columbia University, College of Physicians and Surgeons, he completed his surgical training at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. With additional training as research fellow in tumor immunology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, he then pursued his interest in thoracic surgery as a resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is board certified in both general surgery and thoracic surgery. During his time at Tufts Medical Center, he built a robust practice and established a multidisciplinary foregut program working closely with ENT, pulmonary, and GI colleagues. He returned to BWH in 2014, and currently performs all general thoracic procedures. He has clinical interests in gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Barrett’s esophagus, hiatal hernias, and esophageal cancer.
