Hojun Li, MD, PhD

Dr. Li studies blood development, specifically how a relatively small number of stem cells must go through various transformations to become a large amount of circulating blood cells. His research aims to understand the mechanisms of how some stem cells do not produce enough circulating blood cells (resulting in bone marrow failure) and how other stem cells produce too many circulating blood cells that are not fully developed (resulting in leukemia).
