Biography
Roberto Chiarle, MD
Dr. Chiarle received an M.D. degree and then completed his residency in pathology at the University of Torino Medical School (Italy) in 1997. He was a Fellow and researcher with Dr. Giorgio Inghirami in the Department of Pathology, New York University Medical Center until 2001. He was Visitor Professor at the IDI/PMMC Institute Harvard University, Boston in Dr. Fred Alt lab from 2008 until 2010. He joined the Department of Pathology at the Boston Children Hospital, Harvard Medical School in 2012 where he was appointed as Associate Professor of Pathology. Meanwhile, in 2014 he was promoted Full Professor of Pathology at the University of Torino in Italy. He received a medical license from the Massachusetts Board of Medicine in 2014.
In two decades of clinical and research work he gained expertise in the areas of Hematopathology, Onco-Immunology, and Molecular Biology. He was awarded national and international grants, such as an international prize from the Italian Academy of Sciences, two prestigious European Research Council (ERC) grants and an AICR-UK grant. He currently receives funding from the NIH.
